If you're after a spot of culture and/or entertainment
then we recommend the following:
The Tower Arts Centre - Winchester's finest multi-arts venue.
Everything from The Handsome Family to Long John Baldry, lots of
classes and a nice line in special events. A favourite with audience
and performer alike.
The Theatre Royal - after a long time dark, Nic and crew have
re-opened this 400 seat theatre with much success and fanfare. From
top line theatre to top line comedy, it's all here.
The
Railway Inn - live music most nights of the week, mainly local
bands but the odd 'name' is often thrown in for good measure. If
you want to see what the Winchester young music scene is about then
The Railway is the place.
The Screen - our only cinema, we used to have about twenty.
Winchester
Cathedral - Now that's what I call a building.
Winchester has plenty of festivals and events going on. Here are
some of them:
The Hat Fair - Britains longest running festival of street theatre.
Winchester's weekend of weekends.
